Book Review

You'll find hundreds of clever cleaning tips inside that can help you solve life's little messes!  If you're wondering what to do with margarine tubs, metal mint tins, and peanut butter jars look no further. Heloise shares creative ideas for using plastic lids that can separate nonstick pans. Plus, I've read many times throughout the pages that one can roll kitchen and bath towels to save on storage room. There's an informative section on making the most of your closet space and I believe the author's all-time favorite cleaners are vinegar and baking soda for almost everything! Great helpful, practical tips to discover and experiment with.

Kids' Visual Study Bible
Over 700 four-color photographs, illustrations, infographics, and maps throughout
Full-color design
Book introductions, including important facts and an image to orient the reader
One-column format with side bar study notes for ease of reading
Presentation page
The complete text of the New International Version (NIV) translation of the Bible
Beautiful cover featuring gloss

So the kid's NIV Visual Study Bible is like a textbook for the older child who is a serious student of the word in a Christian school. You will find the Old and New Testament contents of the Bible, along with an infographic index and maps in the back. The colorful illustrations are wonderful, too. I especially like the questions asked on the front page of each book of the Bible. For example, Who Wrote This Book? Why Was This Book Written? What Do We Learn About God In This book? Who Are The Key People In This Book? Where Did This Happen? What Are Some Of The Stories In This Book? Love using the ribbon marker and this fresh approach to studying God's word. It's a beautiful bible and perfect for gift-giving, as well as at home and church libraries. The downside for me, the font is too small and the book is too heavy to hold. Overall, a great learning experience in exploring people, places, and history of Bible times.

4/5 stars.

Review: Chicken Soup for the Grandma's Soul

About The Book

Whether you're a veteran grandma or a Nana-to-be, this collection of stories will warm your heart and make you laugh about the universal experiences of being a grandmother.

Chicken Soup For The Grandma's Soul

  1. The Birth Of A Grandma
  2. Generations Of Love
  3. Blessings
  4. Adventures With Grandma
  5. Through The Eyes Of The Child
  6. Grandma's Lessons
  7. Gifts from Grandma
  8. Legacies And Heirlooms

One of my favorite cartoon quotes is, "Grandma, you play like you want to have kids of your own someday." This is a great gifting-book for new grandmas and experienced ones. The collection of heart-warming stories honors and celebrates the ageless love of grandmothers. You'll laugh aloud because many of the stories are so delightful to read and you'll be able to relate to them. I especially like The Wooden Spoon story. Being a grandmother of 5, I found the book charming and inspirational.

"Some great moments occur from time to time in life. When you do all you can to enable others to have great moments, you'll be blessed with some matchless moments yourself." -- E. H. Kinney
"Prayer should be the key of the day and the lock of the night." -- Thomas Fuller

5/5 stars. Recommend Chicken Soup For The Grandma's Soul.

Happy Reading!
